Col. 1:9 – Therefore we also, since the day we heard of it, do not cease praying and asking on your behalf that you may be filled with the full knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding.
The Truth Bookroom’s very first Bible Talk, on 26 Mar 18 @ NUS Campus touched on the Will of God – One Person, One Way, One Goal. Ask yourself this: do you know the will of God? It is our natural human tendency to ask things for ourselves, be it in career, education, relationships and the likes. The will of God for your life is not just all those things mentioned above; it is much higher and deeper than that.
The will of God —
- Person – God wants nothing but Christ, and in the sight of God nothing counts except Christ. The will of God is one person — the all-inclusive Christ marvelously unveiled in Colossians.
- Way – God solves all problems through the cross of Christ. God does not negotiate; God terminates. Any believer who refuses to take the unique way of the cross cannot possibly live in the will of God, for the will of God is the cross.
- Goal – In the will of God and according to the will of God, there is one goal, and this goal is the building up of the church as the Body of Christ.
If such a grand will of God is precious to us and if we are willing to give ourselves to it and align our lives with it, then, somehow and in some way, we will know how God wants us to live, where He wants us to be, and what He wants us to do.
