]]>On 25th August 2018, Saturday, Truth Seminar 9 – The Shining Golden Lampstand (Cont’d), was held by The Truth Bookroom at Mandarin Orchard Hotel. We saw returning participants as well as new faces at this continuation.
We need a spirit of wisdom and revelation to understand the intrinsic significance of the golden lampstand (the highest peak of the divine revelation), which was designed by God Himself and portrays the goal of His eternal economy. We also need to subjectively experience the detailed aspects of the golden lampstand (the God-man living) so that we can become the reproduction of the lampstand, the expression of the Triune God.
The speakers too spoke on the importance of needing to have an intimate, personal and affectionate relationship with the Lord for our spiritual growth, as well as the importance of the word.
Heb. 4:12 – For the word of God is living and operative and sharper than any two-edged sword…
In order for us to be transformed, we must be fully open to the Lord in prayer to allow the lamp of the Lord with the seven lamps of fire to search all the chambers of our soul, shining on and enlightening our inward parts to supply them with life. The one who experiences the greatest transformation is the one who is fully open to the Lord. The more we experience the detailed aspects of the Triune God depicted in the lampstand, the more we will see the reproduction of the lampstand which will pave the way for the Lord’s coming back to possess the whole earth.
Rev. 22:17 – And the Spirit and the bride say, Come! And let him who hears say, Come! And let him who is thirsty come; let him who wills take the water of life freely.

]]>The post Two Lessons We Need To Learn On Prayer appeared first on The Truth Bookroom Singapore.
]]>We first need to learn to absorb God in order to learn the lessons on prayer. Then spontaneously we will learn the second lesson: to express God. It is not only easy but typical of us to pour out our miseries to Him when we pray. We will seemingly forget to praise Him amidst all these.
“The best prayer is not one in which we tell God many matters. The Lord Jesus said, “Do not be anxious, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, With what shall we be clothed? For all these things the Gentiles are anxiously seeking. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things” (Matt. 6:31-32). Hence, we do not need to tell God our distresses and miseries, for He already knows them; they are not a problem to Him. We also do not need to tell Him our condition. To do so does not require learning and is a natural prayer, not prayer according to revelation. A prayer of revelation is one in which we do not consider our failures or weaknesses…Instead of caring for our condition, we enter into God’s presence to contact God by looking to Him, beholding Him, praising Him, giving thanks to Him, worshiping Him, and absorbing Him. This is a sweet lesson.”
We speak to God, telling Him everything and/or anything, but do we let Him speak to us? It is supposed to be a two-way traffic, not a one-way street.
“Our problem is that we often go to God in prayer, but we do not let Him speak to us. We must understand that the best prayer is not one in which we speak to God but one in which God speaks to us…We should drop all our burdens, forget our requests, and pay attention only to what God is touching in us. Then we should pray only according to that point. Whatever God asks for is what we say. Then our prayer will be His speaking, His expression. The most genuine and valuable prayer is one in which God expresses His prayer through man.”

]]>Hallelujah for Christian Book Club 7! We have completed the 8-week reading journey with our dear brothers & sisters last Saturday, on The Knowledge of Life, by Witness Lee. It’s eye-opening to see what Life and experience of Life are as revealed in the Scripture.
1 John 5:12 He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.
We have concluded the reading session with the five crucial points for our growth in life in Chapter 14:
May the hymn that we sang be our prayer to the Lord: https://www.hymnal.net/en/hymn/h/750 :
1 God’s intention is to have us all conformed to His dear Son;
Thus a work of transformation by the Spirit must be done.
Chorus
Lord, transform us to Thine image in emotion, mind, and will;
Saturate us with Thy Spirit, all our being wholly fill.
2 God hath us regenerated In our spirit with His life;
But He must transform us further- in our soul by His own life.
3 Spreading outward from our spirit doth the Lord transform our soul,
By the inward parts renewing, till within His full control.
4 By the power of His Spirit in His pattern He transforms;
From His glory to His glory to His image He conforms.
5 He transforms, all sanctifying, till like Him we are matured;
He transforms, our soul possessing, till His stature is secured.
Again, we were very glad that so many of the readers came to join us this round. May the Lord recover our proper eating of the word, that we may be constituted by the truth, and grow in life continuously.

]]>Last Sat during the Christian Book Club we have covered Chapter 12 and 13 in The Knowledge of Life, by Witness Lee. This Saturday (4 Aug) will be the final session for CBC 7, we will continue to read the remaining portion of Chapter 14, concerning Light and Life.
Ephesians 4:22-23 says, “That ye put away, as concerning your former manner of life, the old man…and that ye be renewed in the spirit of your mind.”
“Now that we have seen the difference between life and behavior, we should examine our own living and check it point by point. How much of it is not a performance? How much is not imitation? How much of it is lived out from the life within us? Once we examine ourselves in this way, we will immediately see that much of it is only behavior, imitation, submission and adaptation to certain outward regulations because of outward influence; very little of it is lived out by the life within. This indicates that we have not completely forsaken the behavior of human labor.
How then can we leave the behavior of human labor and live out life? We must realize that behavior is born of another’s encouragement and teaching or one’s own imitation or practice, whereas life springs from the enlightening of God. Behavior does not require any enlightenment; it can be worked out by human effort. Life, however, can be produced only by the shining of light. Therefore, if we want to be delivered from our behavior and live out life, we must be enlightened. Without enlightening, we can at most work out behavior; but with the shining of light, we can live out life.“

]]>The post CBC 7 The Knowledge of Life – 6th session: The Inward Knowledge appeared first on The Truth Bookroom Singapore.
]]>Last Saturday and throughout the week, we have finished reading Chapter 11 of The Inward Knowledge. We need to know God, not just knowing God by His doings or His ways, but also knowing God Himself.
John 17:3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Him whom You have sent, Jesus Christ.
Whenever we taste God from within, we have an enjoyment and taste that cannot be obtained by the knowledge of God according to His doings or ways from without. … Thank God, He can be tasted!
Psalm 34:8 says: “Oh taste and see that the Lord is good.”
The inner sense given to us by the law of life and the teaching of the anointing enables us to know God. Yet, even though this inner sense may be absolutely real and true, still it needs to be proved by the teaching and the principle of the Scripture.
Since from within and without we have many ways and means to know God, we can “be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, to walk worthily of the Lord unto all pleasing, bearing fruit in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God” (Col. 1:9-10)
May we continue to have an increase in the knowledge of God, grow in the life of God, until He completely occupies us.
This Saturday on 28 July we will come together and continue Chapter 12 and 13.

]]>It was a great time meeting our readers again last Saturday (14 July) after our one-month term break! We have read two-third of the Chapter 10 concerning the law of Life, the assignment during the week will be to finish reading the remaining portion of this chapter.
Hebrews 10:16, “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord: I will put my laws on their heart, and upon their mind also will I write them.”
“If this law of life is to regulate its contents out of us, it must pass through our heart; therefore, the working of this law of life within us requires the cooperation of our heart. … The result is that it causes us to have a certain consciousness within. When we have this consciousness, we must obey it by the power of this life.
The more we obey, the more we afford Him the opportunity to work. Such continued interaction of cause and effect working within us results in the unceasing manifestation of the functions of the two elements, death and resurrection, contained in life.
The function of death: takes away all that we should not have within us.
The function of resurrection: adds in all that is of the life of God.
Furthermore, the working of this law and these two functions of death and resurrection are also full of power to enable us to answer the unlimited demand of God and live out all that is in the life of God. Thus, we allow the life of God to grow up gradually and mature within us.
In the meantime, when this life works within us, constantly regulating us, our inclination toward God, submission to God, and service to God become natural and easy, living and fresh.
It is in this living law that God becomes our living God and we become His living people. We may say that our relationship with God is all in this law of life.”
We will continue to read Chapter 11 on this coming Saturday. May we be impressed by what was being presented in the chapters, open to the Lord for His dealing of our heart, so that this wonderful and powerful life can operate, regulate, and work in us.

]]>The post Truth Seminar 8: The Shining Golden Lampstand appeared first on The Truth Bookroom Singapore.
]]>On 23rd June 2018, Saturday, Truth Seminar 8 – The Shining Golden Lampstand, was held by The Truth Bookroom at Mandarin Orchard Hotel. Over half of the participants were from our past seminar(s), while the rest were fresh faces. Since this topic is content-heavy as well, it has been split into 2; some parts were covered during this seminar, while the rest of the content will be covered during the upcoming seminar on 25th August 2018.
We learnt that the lampstand in Exodus, the lampstand in Zechariah, and the lampstands in Revelation are three stages of the truth concerning the lampstand. The golden lampstand signifies the Triune God. We also dived more in-depth into the structures of the lampstand and its significances; it has a shaft with six branches going out from its sides, three branches on the right side and three branches on the left side, there are also three layers – the cups, the knobs, and the blossoming buds. The substance of the lampstand signifies God the Father, its form signifies God the Son, and its expression signifies God the Spirit. We must be deeply impressed that the lampstand in reality is the very Triune God, and all the fullness of the Godhead dwells bodily in Christ; this Christ has been expressed, and His expression is the sevenfold intensified Spirit.
The golden lampstand is also a growing tree. The cups shaped like almond blossoms signifies the resurrection life blossoming; the knobs, the calyxes, the external green leafy parts of the flowers containing the blossoming buds, signifies the sustaining and supporting power of the resurrection life; and the buds, the petals, signifies the expression of the resurrection life.
Exo. 25:31 – And you shall make a lampstand of pure gold…
What is truly marvelous is that the lampstand is made of pure gold; meaning there is no wood, stubble, grass or anything besides gold in its composition (without any impurities). In biblical typology, gold denotes divine nature. We should not have any impurities in us; we should not live a natural life in a natural way in the church life. We have been born of God, thus we have God’s divine life and nature, and we have Christ in us and are a part of Christ.
Eph. 5:30 – Because we are members of His Body.
Lastly, we also learnt that the church is the reproduction of Christ; the church is the Body of Christ as an organism, and the church is the reprint of the Holy Spirit. God is embodied in Christ, and Christ is realised as the Spirit. Both this Christ, who is the embodiment of God, and this Spirit, who is the reality of Christ, signifies the lampstand. In our spirit, we have the reprint of the divine Spirit, which is the church in practicality.

]]>The post Speaking the Word as the Living Spirit appeared first on The Truth Bookroom Singapore.
]]>John 6:63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words which I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.
We have to realize that the word mentioned in the picture is the very Spirit. If we compare this verse to John 6:63, we can see that the word that the Lord speaks is spirit and life. If the word spoken by the Lord were not spirit, how could it enter into the heart of the listeners? This is the reason that while we are preaching the word in a living way, this living word becomes the Spirit in the hearts of the listeners. We can never separate the Lord’s word from the Spirit. The Spirit and the word are always two in one. While we are speaking the word, the Holy Spirit mingles Himself with the word. Then when the word arrives in the hearts of the listeners, it becomes the living Spirit.
The word is not just mere doctrine but rather, something living. If you have preached the gospel before, then you will understand. When you preached mere doctrines to people, the word does not remain in them nor stir them up. On the contrary, if you have the living Spirit mingled with the words, the difference is obvious. We need to be able to differentiate between these two in order to bring about a real, lasting change.
…when we go to preach, we need to teach people a little, but we should not do too much teaching…When we speak, we need the living faith that our word is a word full of the Spirit. For this reason, we have to learn not to speak the teaching of religion. We must learn to speak something about Christ, the living One. We are not ministering mere doctrines as a religion; we are ministering the living Christ to people…Regardless of which way we contact people, the goal, the aim, is to minister Christ to them, to bring them to realize that what they need is Christ Himself, the living One.

]]>The post What is Considered An Experience of Life? appeared first on The Truth Bookroom Singapore.
]]>Since life is God Himself, so to experience God is to experience life. Any and all experiences that does not touch God is not an experience of life.
“An experience which results from God passing through man and man passing through Him is considered an experience of life. For example: in our prayer we meet God, become enlightened, see our own fault, and deal with it before God. It is not that we detect our own fault, but rather, when we draw near to God, we are inwardly met by God, and thereby we see our own fault. God is light; hence when we meet Him, we see our own fault in His light. We naturally confess to God and ask for the cleansing of the Lord’s blood. As a consequence, God passes through us, and we also pass through God. Such experience causes us to experience God; therefore, it is the experience of life.
Let’s say you did something wrong and had some repentance, but if it is not due to God’s enlightenment but due to your own introspection, then it is not an experience of life since there is no contact with God whatsoever. So have you ever experienced this before?
“All experiences of life are from God and are His working within us; therefore, they can cause us to touch God and experience Him. All experience that is not such is not the experience of life, for life is God, and to experience life is to experience God. Hence, any such experience of God will show forth life (Phil. 2:13-16).”

]]>The post CBC 7 The Knowledge of Life – 4th session: Discerning Soul & Spirit; 3 Lives & 4 Laws appeared first on The Truth Bookroom Singapore.
]]>Glory be to God! We have completed the 1st Semester for CBC 7 yesterday. We covered Chapter 8 The Difference Between Spirit and Soul, and Chapter 9, Three Lives and Four Laws, in The Knowledge of Life by Witness Lee.
Sharing a portion from Chapter 8:
For the word of God is living and operative and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of the soul and spirit… — Hebrews 4:12a
But a soulish man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him and he is not able to know them because they are discerned spiritually. But the spiritual man discerns all things… — 2 Corinthians 2:14-15a
“…we must ask the Lord to make us see not only the impotence of the soul, but also the dealing of the cross with the soul; thus, in everything we will learn to reject the soul and not live by the soul. One who is in the mind should refuse his intellect in all spiritual things; he should put aside completely such functions as thinking and considering and return to the spirit, using the spirit to sense the consciousness of God.”
Sharing a portion from Chapter 9:
For I delight in the law of God according to the inner man, But I see a different law in my members, warring against the law of my mind and making me a captive to the law of sin which is in my members. — Romans 7:22-23
For the law of the Spirit of life has freed me in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and of death. — Romans 8:2
The three lives are:
1. Life of man
2. Life of Satan
3. Life of God
The four laws are:
1. Law of God
2. Law of good in our mind
3. Law of sin and of death
4. Law of the Spirit of life
“Philosophers throughout generations have advocated various ways of cultivating morality or improving behavior. In fact, what they have advocated is a working through human intellect, self-will, and self-effort on the already corrupted body and soul, in order to restore or reactivate the original good in man. All this cannot overcome the natural power of the law of sin. The strength of man is limited, while the power of the law is enduring; man’s striving is a self-exertion, while the power of law is spontaneous. Man by using his own effort may be able to sustain himself for a while, but once his strength is exhausted, the power of law manifests itself again. Therefore, God’s way of deliverance is not to work on our outward body by dealing with the Sin which surrounds us, nor to work on the soul, which is between our body and our spirit, by strengthening our will to do good. But it is in our center, that is, in our spirit, that God adds into us a new element, which brings with it a mighty power of life. Then He advances from our center to the circumference, penetrating through all the parts of our being, by using one law to subdue another law to overcome the power of sinning in the law of sin. Moreover, we are enabled to live out the good required by the law of God, which we were unable to live out formerly through the law of good. And much more, through the life which is derived from the law of the Spirit of life, we are able to live out the life which God desires.”
We will have a term break from 10 June – 13 July 2018. 2nd Semester of CBC 7 will start on 14 July, and continues on 21 July, 28 July, 4 Aug. We pray that this term break will not be a pause of our growing, but we will continue to grow in life unto maturity.

]]>Romans 8:6 For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the spirit is life and peace.
In the past week from 27 May to 2 June, we read together in CBC 7 The Knowledge of Life Chapter 5 – 7, and learned about The Sense of Life, The Fellowship of Life, The Sense of the Spirit and Knowing the Spirit.
“…concerning our condition in life, whether we are fleshly minded or spiritually minded, whether we are living in the flesh or living in the spirit, it is proved and made known to us through the sense of life. It is through this kind of proving that the sense of life gives us guidance from within. Only if we follow the guidance of this kind of proving can we live in life. Therefore, if we desire to go on in life, we must pay attention to the proving and leading which this sense of life gives us from within.”
“The fellowship of life and the sense of life are mutually related. …When the fellowship of life is not interrupted, the sense of life causes us to feel that we have the supply of life. Therefore, whether we are living in the fellowship of life and whether we have the supply of life depends entirely on what the sense of life indicates. The more we live in the fellowship of life, the keener is our sense of life, and the more we are supplied with life.”
“…If we want to know the spirit directly, it is somewhat difficult, but it is comparatively easy to know the spirit itself by such senses of the spirit. …If we follow the naturalness of the law of the Spirit of life, take care of the sense of life and peace, heed the warning given to us by the sense of death, and live in these senses, then we are living in the spirit. These senses are from the spirit; therefore, they can cause us to touch the spirit and thereby know the spirit.”
May we all be brought into such a fellowship of life and live in the spirit. May the Lord gain each one of us, to be one who live and act according to the sense of life within.
Lastly, we shared about the upcoming Truth Seminar 8, on the topic: The Shining Golden Lampstand, 23 June (Sat), 2.30 – 5.00pm @ Mandarin Orchard Hotel, Room 606, Orchard Wing. Feel free to join us if you are available! Registration link is: http://tinyurl.com/ts8tbr .

]]>Thank the Lord for another reading session on the book The Knowledge of Life. on 26 May Saturday afternoon, we shared the summary for Chapter 3 (The First Experience of Life — Regeneration), and read together Chapter 4 (That Which is Gained through Regeneration).
A portion in Chapter 3 saying,
“…When the Holy Spirit, by our believing in the Lord Jesus, puts God’s life into our spirit and causes us to be born of God, to become God’s children, and in the new creation to be united with God as one, this is regeneration.”
Another portion in Chapter 4 saying,
“…We must see that what we obtain through regeneration is too great, too high, too rich, and too glorious. Through regeneration we obtain the life of God and the law of this life. Through regeneration we obtain a new heart and a new spirit. Through regeneration we further obtain the Holy Spirit, Christ, and God Himself. These are truly sufficient for us—sufficient to make us holy and spiritual, sufficient to make us victorious and transcendent, and sufficient to make us grow and mature in life.”
Indeed, we need to see that we are regenerated and become God’s children the moment we believe into Him. May this life that we received through regeneration will continue to grow unto maturity!
For the week’s assignment, all readers will read Chapter 5 – The Sense of Life together with respective reading companion(s) before the next group session on 2 June.

]]>The post Christian Lunch Talk: A Clear Understanding Concerning Antichrist appeared first on The Truth Bookroom Singapore.
]]>The Truth Bookroom organized the very first Christian Lunch Talk, with the topic of “A Clear Understanding concerning Antichrist”, on 4th May 2018, at Stellar Restaurant in One-Altitude. It was a truth-filled and Christ-filled talk; not only were our bellies filled, our spirit was too!
To be clearer on Antichrist, the life study of Revelation, pages 493-494 states that, “We are told clearly in Revelation that the coming Antichrist will be a fatal blow. Although he will be killed, his fatal wound will be healed (13:3). This denotes resuscitation…This will be a counterfeit of the resurrection of Christ. Christians have been preaching that Christ was the only One to be crucified and resurrected. But the day is coming when another one will be killed and seemingly resurrected. Due to this counterfeit of the resurrection, the whole world will marvel after the beast (13:3). Antichrist, the counterfeit of Christ…We all need the enlightenment of this proper understanding.”
2 Thes. 2:3-4, “Let no one deceive you in any way, because it will not come unless the apostasy comes first and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or an object of worship, so that he sits in the temple of God, setting himself forth, saying that he is God.”
We should pray to the Lord that He’ll reveal more of this to us, to remove the veil from our eyes and grant us a clear sky, so that we may see the truth and choose to be the living overcomers who stand for the Lord’s testimony.

]]>The post Truth Seminar 7: The Mystery of God; The Mystery of Christ; Oneness of the Spirit appeared first on The Truth Bookroom Singapore.
]]>The Truth Bookroom held the 7th Truth Seminar on 1st May 2018, Tuesday, in Mandarin Orchard Hotel to conclude off “The World Situation and Returning to the Orthodoxy of God’s People”. This session saw not only a multitude of returning participants, but also a myriad of new faces. Because it was a concluding seminar, it was hence divided into 5 messages so as to better and more extensively cover the crucial points especially concerning the return to the orthodoxy.
The content of the topics covered:
The Mystery of God – Christ;
The Mystery of Christ – the Church;
Keeping the Oneness of the Spirit
The first half of the seminar was summed up in 6 points: mystery, Christ, riches, fullness, revelation and experience.
Colossians 1:19 “For in Him all the fullness was pleased to dwell.”
Colossians 2:2 “That their hearts may be comforted, they being knit together in love and unto all the riches of the full assurance of understanding, unto the full knowledge of the mystery of God, Christ,”
“The Mystery of God — In this universe there is a divine mystery, and this mystery is of two parts. The first part of this mystery is the mystery of God, which is Christ Himself (1 Cor. 2:1-2). All that God is, and everything related to God, is embodied in Christ. Thus, if you do not know Christ, you do not know the mystery of God, and if you are not in Christ, you are not in the mystery of God. Further, if you do not have Christ in your spirit, you do not have any share in the mystery of God. If you want to know God and contact God, you have to be in Christ, because everything of God is embodied in Christ and Christ is the mystery of God.
The Mystery of Christ — The second part of the one divine mystery in this universe is the mystery of Christ. The mystery of Christ is different from the mystery of God. The mystery of Christ is the Body of Christ, the church (Eph. 3:4, 6). Thus, if you would like to meet Christ, know Christ, and receive something of Christ, you must contact the Body of Christ, the church. Just as Christ is the mystery of God, the church is the mystery of Christ. These are the two parts of the one divine mystery in this universe.” — Extracted from The Mystery of God and The Mystery of Christ, by Witness Lee
Colossians 3:11 Where there cannot be Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free man, but Christ is all and in all.
“In the new man there is room only for Christ. He is all the members of the new man and in all the members. He is everything in the new man. Actually, He is the new man, His Body (1 Cor. 12:12). In the new man He is the centrality and universality. He is the constituent of the new man, and He is all in all in the new man.” – Footnote 9 of Col 3:11 in Recovery Version Bible.
Therefore brothers and sister, there should be no more separation and differences. We need to have Christ ministered and wrought into our being and be our constituent. His riches are unsearchable, endless, limitless and inexhaustible. All we need to do is to just take Him in! We need to have the revelation and to experience Him. To have the growth in life, we need to be deeply rooted in Him.
Ephesians 4:3-6 “ Being diligent to keep the oneness of the Spirit in the uniting bond of peace: One Body and one Spirit, even as also you were called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism; One God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
In the latter part of the seminar, the speaker spoke about the oneness of the Spirit. It is something that we already have, we just have to keep it, diligently! The church as the Body of Christ needs Christ as life. The church as the one new man needs Christ as the person. Christ is all and in all; we have to put off the old man and put on the new man.
Colossians 3:16 elaborates on the word of Christ, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to God.”
The next seminar will be at Mandarin Orchard Hotel on 23rd June 2018, Saturday, 2:30-5PM, will cover another important topic: The Shining Golden Lampstand.

]]>Yesterday we commenced the 1st session of 8-week reading journey for The Knowledge of Life, by Witness Lee! It was so joyful to see many new faces and familiar faces, and to read through together Chapter 1 and 2, concerning what life is and the experience of life.
“…in summary, life is the Triune God. But to us, life is not the Triune God in heaven, but the Triune God flowing out. This flowing out of the Triune God means that His content, which is Himself, first flowed out through Christ; then it flowed out as the Spirit to be received by us as life. Thus, when we touch God in Christ as the Spirit, we touch life, for life is God in Christ as the Spirit.”
“…To experience life is to experience God, to experience Christ, and to experience the Holy Spirit. This is not something of our own doing or attempt at improvement; rather it is the issue of God moving in us, Christ living out through us, and the anointing of the Holy Spirit in us. May we pursue after this.”
For this week’s assignment, all readers will read Chapter 3 – The First Experience of Life together with respective reading companion(s) before the next group session on 26 May.
May we know this life and grow in life together!

“The last clause of verse 5 is the most important. ‘And they will reign forever and ever.‘ …God wanted man to have dominion over the earth and to destroy Satan. Now man is reigning, and Satan has been cast into the lake of fire. God’s purpose for the man He created has been attained. On the one hand, God wanted man to be like Himself, and on the other hand, God’s appointed work for man was that he should rule. Now we have seen a bride — golden, glorious, and beautiful — with all kinds of treasure within her. She lacks nothing and is without spot, wrinkle, or any such things. Furthermore, she is holy and without blemish. She is truly clothed with glory. The glorious church spoken of in Ephesians 5 has been fulfilled in this way. …They will reign forever and ever.
… Now that we have seen God’s purpose and how He is working, what should we do? …May God be gracious to us, that having seen such a vision we will pay the full price. May God give us a vision of what He is doing and what He is after. May He show us the kind of people He desires to obtain and how precious is that which He has set His heart upon.
…Today we are standing between these two alternatives — being an overcomer or being a failure. How can we afford to be slack in prayer? If we neglect to pray, we will never be God’s overcomer.
… Of all the dispensational moves, the man-child is the greatest because it removes man’s power and the devil’s power, and it brings in the kingdom. … Light will show us the way, but strength and power will enable us to walk the road. A great price must be paid in order to be used now.”
May our living be governed by this vision that God has revealed to us in the Scripture. We hope the end of CBC6 would be a fresh start of our consecrated Christian life for His eternal plan.

]]>Thank the Lord for the 3rd session of CBC 6 on The Glorious Church on 21 Apr 2018, we read Chapter 4 Part B concerning the principle of the man-child.
Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they loved not their soul-life even unto death.
The Blood of the Lamb: “The precious blood is the basis of spiritual warfare. If we do not know the value of the blood, we cannot fight. Once our conscience is weakened, we are finished. … Spiritual warfare requires a conscience without offense, and the blood alone can give us such a conscience.”
The word of their testimony: “Testimony means to tell others what there is in Christ, and the word of testimony is something which must be spoken forth. The overcomers must frequently proclaim the victory of Christ. Satan fears most when this fact is repeated again and again. It is the fact that kingdom of heaven will come; it is a fact that the Lord is King; it is the fact that Christ is victorious and forever victorious,… When we proclaim Christ is this and Christ is that, this is the testimony.”
Not loving our own soul-life: “The attitude of the overcomer is that he does not care what Satan may do to him. Even though Satan would take his life away, he would never bow to Satan, but always remain faithful to God. The attitude of the overcomer is to be able to say to the Lord: ‘For Your sake there is not one thing that I would not forsake, even my life’.”
May the Lord gain each one of us, to be the living overcomers!
For individual reading assignment during the week, all readers will get into Chapter 5 “The Holy City, New Jerusalem” – Part A. Pray that we will be brought to a higher ground to see God’s heart desire, and to see the principle of Babylon and principle of Bride.

]]>We are grateful to the Lord for the second reading session on the book The Glorious Church. On 14 Apr 2018, we read together Chapter 3 on The Body of Christ and the Bride of Christ.
From this chapter, we learnt that in the Lord’s eyes, the church has two positions: as to her life, the church is the Body of Christ, but regarding her future, she is the Bride of Christ. As to the union of Christ with the church, the church is His Body; regarding the intimate relationship of Christ with the church, the church is His Bride.
Every Christian must know the Body of Christ. … We cannot just live as individuals, we must walk together with other children of God. … He must live as a member with many other Christians, having a mutual, Body-relatedness with them. If we really know the life of the Body, we will see that a Christian cannot live one day without the Lord Jesus, and neither can he live one day without other Christians.
Furthermore, when we read Eph 5:25-27, Christ will bring the church and present it to Himself. This presenting, however, is in the future. The church today has not yet attained to this place. Christ is working step by step in the church until that day when He presents her to Himself. …The natural life and all that is not out of Christ must be purged away. Sanctification can only come after cleansing, and the basis of cleansing is the Lord’s word, the rhema. … The central point of our prayers should be our longing for the Lord’s speaking.”
Finally, we see from Rev 1:5-6 that not only where the Lord Jesus is, but also where the church is, the kingdom of God is. … Since the work of the church is to stand for God and not give any ground to Satan, what manner of living should we have to accomplish this task? All our sins and unrighteousness must be dealt with, our consecration to God must be thorough, our soul-life must be put to death, and our natural man must be abandoned.
May the Lord have mercy on us and continue to gain us for His eternal purpose.
For individual reading assignment during the week, all readers will read Chapter 4 “And She Brought Forth…A Man-Child” – Part A.
Truly we are entering into a very important portion in the Bible concerning the woman in Revelation 12 and the man-child. Watchman Nee’s clear expounding of this portion reveals who this woman actually is. Knowing this woman is really fundamental. It paves the way for us to know a more important principle “the man-child” – the overcomers.
The Lord’s coming is drawing near. Our time are all precious. May we seize opportunity to see the truth and be today’s overcomers!

]]>It was so joyful to see many of the readers in the Christian Book Club 6 commenced on 7 April 2018. We are in a 4-week journey reading through The Glorious Church, by Watchman Nee.
On the first session, we read through Chapter 1 in respective groups, concerning God’s Plan and God’s Rest.
“God’s purpose is to gain a group of people who are like His Son. When we read Romans 8:29 we find God’s purpose: “Because those whom He foreknew, He also predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the Firstborn among many brothers.” God desires to have many sons, and God desires all these sons to be like that one Son of His. Then His Son will no more be the only Begotten, but the Firstborn among many brethren. God’s desire is to gain such a group of people. … How God values man! Even He Himself became a man! God’s plan is to gain man. When man is gained by God, God’s plan is accomplished.”
We hope we all were enlightened by the God’s purpose in creation of man, and the relationship between redemption and creation.
For individual reading assignment during the week, all readers will get into Chapter 2 concerning The Type of Eve.
“And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man (Genesis 2:23). This one was Adam’s help meet and the figure of the church in Ephesians 5. … We must remember that Eve was formed out of a rib taken from Adam,; therefore, Eve was the constituent of Adam. This means that the church comes out of Christ. Only that which is out of Christ can be the church. Anything that is not of Christ is not the church.” — The Glorious Church, p.27.
May the Lord grant us spiritual sight to see what type of Eve is as revealed in Genesis 2.

]]>The post Truth Seminar 6: What is the line of life and the line of death? appeared first on The Truth Bookroom Singapore.
]]>
The first half of the seminar touched on the two lines in the Bible: the line of life and the line of death.
The following chart is the family tree as depicted in the Bible:

In reference back to the two lines, the side on the left from Cain onwards, is the line of death, whereas the side on the right from Seth onwards, is the line of life.
According to Colossians 3:11, in the new man “there cannot be Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, slave, freeman, but Christ is all and in all.”
We must destroy everything that is not the church, with Christ. We shall simply be in the church life enjoying Christ as the riches of the good land. Our temperament, disposition, natural characteristics, and preferences have all been eliminated. The New Jerusalem will be the ultimate consummation of oneness and of all the positive things included in it.
In the second half, the issue of oneness and life were further elaborated on. Psalms 133 depicts brothers dwelling together in oneness, which touched on one crucial matter: the ministry of life. The ministry of the Spirit is the ministry of life; letter and knowledge kills but the Spirit gives life.
This can be seen in 2 Cor. 3:6, “Who has also made us sufficient as ministers of a new covenant, ministers not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
The letter refers to the letter of the law, which only requires of man. It is unable to supply man with life (Gal. 3:21). Because of man’s inability to fulfill the requirements of the law, the law kills man (Rom. 7:9-11). On the other hand, the Spirit, the ultimate expression of the processed Triune God, who became a life-giving Spirit (1 Cor. 15:45), imparts the divine life, even God Himself, into the believers and the apostles, making them ministers of a new covenant, the covenant of life. Hence, their ministry is one constituted with the Triune God of life by His life-giving Spirit.
To conclude “The World Situation and Returning to the Orthodoxy of God’s People”, the upcoming seminar, Truth Seminar 7, held on 1st May 2018 from 10AM to 5PM at Mandarin Orchard Hotel, will bring to light more truths pertaining to the topic.

]]>The Truth Bookroom’s very first Bible Talk, on 26 Mar 18 @ NUS Campus touched on the Will of God – One Person, One Way, One Goal. Ask yourself this: do you know the will of God? It is our natural human tendency to ask things for ourselves, be it in career, education, relationships and the likes. The will of God for your life is not just all those things mentioned above; it is much higher and deeper than that.
The will of God —
If such a grand will of God is precious to us and if we are willing to give ourselves to it and align our lives with it, then, somehow and in some way, we will know how God wants us to live, where He wants us to be, and what He wants us to do.

]]>What does it mean to live a crucified life? Basically we need to bear the cross, deny the self, to not let the old man or the flesh leave the cross, and to live by Christ as life. We need to learn the lesson of the cross, to remain in the Lord’s death practically so as to live by Christ and for Christ. Watchman Nee is such a brother who truly lived a crucified life.
2 Cor. 4:10 – Always bearing about in the body the putting to death of Jesus that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.
“He believed that everything was from God’s hand and was willing to bear any kind of opposition or attack as a cross, in order to live a crucified life with Christ…Watchman Nee was continually under hardships and dealings in order to produce spiritual fruit for cheering others…he was still willing to face any sacrifice by being pruned once more, as if he had never suffered any strokes before.”
In his personal testimony given at Kulangsu, Fukien, October 20, 1936, “…When I was being tempered together in the service with my co-workers, the Lord ordered many crosses for me. Many times I felt embarrassed. I would not accept the dealing of the cross and found it difficult to submit. Inwardly, however, I knew that if the cross were ordered by the Lord, it would be the right thing, though it would still be difficult to obey and accept it. While the Lord was on the earth, He learned obedience by the cross which He suffered (Heb. 5:8, Phil. 2:8). How could I be an exception?”

]]>We should ask ourselves this question, “Do I pray for my own heart’s desire or do I pray for God’s heart’s desire?” Not some, not even most people can honestly say they only pray for God’s heart’s desire. “I want…”, if that’s how our prayer starts of, then we need to confess before God. Ask God what He wants instead.
Heb. 10:22 – Let us come forward to the Holy of Holies with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience…
“When one comes to pray to God, he should only desire God Himself. He should desire nothing outside God. He should only seek God’s will and not anything that is outside His will. Many times when one comes to pray to God for a certain thing, he will ask God to show him His heart’s desire, but he has his own desire also. Such a heart is false, doubting, and untrue. The heart needs to be single, seeking only God’s desire. It is of foremost importance that the heart be true before God.”
If you come before God to seek something more than God, then your heart is not true. It’s so easy to ask God for things we want or circumstances that we desire; we care so deeply for ourselves and our own well-being. It’s a “me, me, me” world. A true, genuine prayer is not like this.
“All those who come before God should have a true heart. Here, to be true means to be genuine and upright, not false or crooked. The heart of an insincere man is surely not true. Not only so, to be true also means to be single-minded. If a person comes before God to seek something in addition to God, he is double-minded, and his heart is not true. A true heart is real and not false, right and not bent, single and not double. It desires only one thing – God Himself.”

]]>In our Christian Book Club (CBC) 5 from Jan – Feb this year, over 40 readers finished reading Lessons on Prayer by Witness Lee together with us. In this book, it presents to us the meaning and purpose of prayer, the requirements and practices to be a man of prayer and the relationship between prayer and the spiritual warfare.
John 15:7 says, “If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you.”
One who can pray the prayers that can be answered by God must be one who abides in God and also has God’s Word abiding in him. Reading the Word and pray are two indispensable requirements to live a normal Christian life. Many things in life according to God’s creation are two sided. We should not just focus on reading the Bible without praying. Neither should we pray without reading the Word. We should practice both reading and praying in order to live a healthy and normal Christian life.
Ephesians 6: 18-By means of all prayer and petition, praying at every time in spirit…
Besides reading the book, we also encouraged all our readers to have a set time to pray to God daily for 21 days during this course. We believe that we got great spiritual help by putting reading and praying into practices during this four-week course. We trust that besides gaining spiritual knowledge through reading the Word and Christian books, we need to take the initiative to put all the truths into practices in our Christian life.
Our 6th Christian Book Club will be from 7th April to 28th April. We will read one of the bestsellers of Watchman Nee together — The Glorious Church Life. The Glorious Church reveals to us God’s view on the church. What’s the church revealed in the Bible? This book with 5 chapters opens the matter of the church to us from Genesis to Revelation. Join our 4-week course if you want to advance in your Christian life and know what is in God’s heart from the eternity past to the eternity future.

]]>On 6th January 2018, The Truth Bookroom organized the 5th Truth Seminar in Mandarin Orchard Hotel. The topic as a continuation of our previous seminar was on the world situation and returning to orthodoxy of God’s people. We were so glad to see many readers who can to join us this time.
In the first part of the seminar, our speaker presented to us a panoramic view of the world situation in relation to God’s move. It unfolded to us that the Bible reveals the universal history according to God’s economy — the divine history within the human history. In this universe there are two histories: the history of man, the human history, and the history of God, the divine history; the former is like an outward shell, and the latter, like the kernel within the shell.
Where can we see the divine history and the human history in the Bible?
There were many events happened in the world that were arranged by God to carry out and fulfill His eternal purpose. We need to be enlightened to see God’s move through the change of the world situation and render God the cooperation He needs from His people. The best cooperation we can offer to God is to pray.
In the second part, our speaker emphasized on the point on returning to orthodoxy of God’s people. What’s the orthodoxy of God’s people? The orthodoxy is the truth that God reveals to apostles in the Bible.
In Matthew 19:8, we see the principle of returning to the orthodoxy: “ He said to them, Moses, because of your hardness of heart, allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it has not been so.”

We need to go back to the beginning what is revealed in God’s Word. There are three beginnings in the Bible, which are the beginning in eternity past, the beginning of God’s creation and the beginning of the church. Our speaker stressed on the beginning of the church. How did the church begin? What was the practices of the church revealed in Acts?
And they continued steadfastly in the teaching and the fellowship of the apostles, in the breaking of bread and the prayers. – Acts 2: 42
We will continue to host two more seminars on the same topic to bring more revelation to our Christian readers on the matter of the world situation and God’s move.

]]>The best and most valuable prayer is not one in which we speak but one in which God speaks. The best and most valuable prayer is not one in which we cry out or beseech but one in which we inquire and let God speak. To cry out is to tell God the things of man, but to beseech is to beg for the things of God. The best prayer is to inquire. To inquire is to let God speak so that the words spoken are God’s speaking within man, God’s expressions. This is the best prayer. …to pray means to absorb God and to express Him. Every prayer should touch God and let Him pass through us and be expressed. When we pray in this way, we will be anointed by God and be mingled more with Him. Then we will know that God is our everything. We will also see that He is always with us and is our supply in every need.

]]>We also need to thoroughly confess every offense in our conscience. We need to exercise ourselves to have a conscience without offense toward God and men (Acts 24:16). If there is an offense that condemns our conscience, it will be difficult for us to have living faith. Therefore, we must confess our sins. If we have a genuine love for people and a proper confession of our sins, our faith will be living.
We also need to go out in faith. Whenever we contact people, we must believe that we are under the baptism in the Holy Spirit. If we go out in this way, the Lord will honor our faith. Many times in my ministry in the past, according to my own feeling, I seemed to be weak, depressed, and perturbed. However, because I realized that I still needed to minister not by myself but by the Lord, I took the standing that the baptism in the Spirit was upon the Body and that I was a member of the Body. Then I was able to minister with the full assurance of faith. The Lord honors this standing.

]]>Our salvation lies in looking away to the Lord Jesus and in seeing that the Blood of the Lamb has met the whole situation created by our sins and has answered it. That is the sure foundation on which we stand. Never should we try to answer Satan with our good conduct but always with the Blood. Yes, we are sinful, but, praise God! The Blood cleanses us from every sin. God looks upon the Blood whereby his Son has met the charge, and Satan has no more ground of attack. Our faith in the precious Blood and our refusal to be moved from that position can alone silence his charges and put him to flight (Romans 8:33-34); and so it will be, right on to the end (Revelation 12:11). Oh, what an emancipation it would be if we saw more of the value in God’s eyes of the precious Blood of his dear Son!
